After studying industrial design, Cam Brensinger, an avid mountaineer, first worked for MIT on a NASA-funded Mars spacesuit project. In 2002, he founded NEMO Equipment, launching the first tent featuring the A.S.T. (AirSupported Technology™) concept, with a structure made of low-pressure inflatable poles. Resistant to strong winds, compact when packed, and quick to pitch, it quickly won over retailers, enthusiasts, and even the US Army Special Forces.
An expanded product range
After proving its innovation in tents with high-performance products full of ergonomic details, the NEMO Equipment design team turned to mattresses and sleeping bags. This led to the creation of a range of ultra-lightweight and compact self-inflating and inflatable mattresses.
