Founded in 1888 in Morez, in the Jura region, Julbo has always been driven by one idea: vision in the mountains is non-negotiable. On the snow, a Julbo ski goggle does more than just complement a helmet: it provides stable comfort, widens your field of view, and ensures optimal visibility when light conditions change. In the same spirit, Julbo sunglasses offer the same high standards of protection, while ski goggles let you explore the full world of mountain vision.

Julbo lens technologies: Reactiv and Spectron

The range is built around two main lens families:

  • Reactiv photochromic lenses automatically adapt to changing light, adjusting their tint as brightness increases, decreases, or becomes diffuse. Julbo offers this technology in High Contrast to enhance terrain definition, Light Amplifier for clarity in low light, and Glare Control (polarised) to reduce reflections.
  • Spectron lenses use a fixed tint, ideal when conditions remain stable. UV protection levels range from 1 to 4; 1 is for very low light, 4 for bright sunshine.

Ventilation and anti-fog treatment

To maintain clear vision, Julbo combines integrated ventilation with anti-fog treatment. The frame design encourages airflow, while the inner coating is engineered to limit condensation, even during intense activity or worsening weather.

How to choose your Julbo goggle?

Adapting your goggle to light conditions

Reading the terrain is key: a Julbo photochromic goggle with Reactiv lenses adapts to changing conditions (sunny, cloudy, flat light), while a fixed-tint Spectron lens is suited to regular use in more consistent light, with appropriate UV protection.

Helmet and prescription glasses compatibility

Designed to fit all helmets, Julbo ski goggles feature a wide strap for optimal hold. For glasses wearers, some models are available in OTG (over the glasses) versions, with extra internal space and side openings for the arms, ensuring a natural fit on the face.

Which Julbo goggle for children?

Julbo also brings its expertise to younger users, with compact models, comfortable foam, and UV 400 protection, offering vision quality on par with adult goggles.

Julbo's flagship ski goggles

Julbo Lightyear

The Julbo Lightyear goggle stands out with its frameless construction, offering an extra-wide field of vision for maximum visibility on the slopes and total immersion for the skier.

Julbo Shadow

Shadow is known for its balance and comfort, thanks to triple-density foam and a stable fit, especially appreciated when the pace picks up.

Julbo Razor Edge

With a technical, modern look, the Julbo Razor Edge goggle prioritises panoramic vision, with a lens designed to maintain a wide and fluid view of the terrain-ideal for dynamic freeride.

Julbo Globe

Julbo Globe excels with its versatility and Reactiv photochromic lens, perfect for adapting to all light conditions on any adventure.

Julbo ski goggles FAQ

What is the difference between a Reactiv lens and a Spectron lens?

Reactiv is photochromic: the tint changes with the light. Spectron keeps a fixed tint, with constant UV protection.

How do you care for your Julbo goggle?

Clean the exterior with a microfibre cloth, let it air dry, then store the goggle in its pouch. Avoid rubbing the inner surface to preserve the treatment.

Are Julbo goggles suitable for freeride?

Yes, Julbo's mountain DNA is found in goggles designed for movement, with a wide field of vision, good stability, and ventilation suited to freeride activity.

How do you adjust the strap on your Julbo goggle?

Adjustment is made via the side buckles: the goggle should sit snugly without excess pressure, and the strap helps keep it stable on the helmet. The key is a secure fit and clear vision throughout the day.
