The Ortovox 3+ features the patented Smart-Antenne technology, with intelligent position recognition, automatically switches to the best transmission antenna. It will therefore be far quicker and easier to find you.
The 3+ is equipped with all the features of a modern, digital, 3-antenna AVD device. The illuminated real-time display screen will tell you the direction, distance and number of victims. The tendency display, combined with the intuitive search acoustics, leaves no doubt when operating in fine search mode.
Once located, the victims can be removed from the display using the flagging function of the 3+, to further simplify the organisation of a rescue. The motion-sensor-based follow-up avalanche switchover ensures additional safety.
Ortovox is also thinking about the future of the planet with this model: the 3+ can be updated and only requires a single battery, which helps to protect the environment!

In order to be able to offer the best protection possible, we’ve also equipped the 3+ with a Recco reflector. Recco helps professional rescuers find victims buried in the snow even faster. This offers an additional possibility of being found quickly. The backup technology is used by more than 700 ski areas and rescue teams around the world.
Secondary avalanche switchover :
We have added the most up-to-date digital 3-antenna technology to the 3+, as well as a motion sensor to enable secondary avalanche switchover. If the sensor has not detected any motion for 120 seconds during the search, it automatically switches back to transmit mode. Thus rescuers can also be found if there has been a secondary avalanche.
Smart-Antenna Technology :
Victims who are equipped with the 3+ are alot easier and quicker to find! The integrated Smart-Antenna-Technology analyzes the position of the antennas in the avalanche and automatically switches to the best transmission antenna. The result: Almost double the range in the worst transmission position, regardless of the beacon used for searching.
You are easier to find:
The tendency display focuses on the essentials: the distance and the relative position of the buried person. Always align the device with the arrow. The filled-in and the central distance indication will put you on the right track.
More precise searching :
The patented tendency display shows you at a glance if you are getting closer or further away from the signal. With the precise distance display, you can determine the most efficient way and the shortest distance to reach the buried person and thus narrow down the search area.
You will be able to find more buried people:
With the 3+, even when there are multiple people buried under the snow, you will still have a complete view of them all. The number of buried people is displayed on the screen. As soon as you have found the first one, you can hide the signal with a recognition key. They will then be displayed as recognised, and you can continue the search immediately.
