Advice : Use the foot sizer from SIDAS to help you find the right size
The Alien 1.0 are ski mountaineering boots from Scarpa... and not just any old boots.
This formula 1 of ski mountaineering, known as the white wolf in the world for several years, is getting a new look this year. Once again, Scarpa impresses with its ability to produce boots that are incredibly light but still have good skiability and comfort. Competitors or simply those who want the lightest and most efficient equipment possible should be delighted.
On this latest version, we find a new, even more efficient carbon collar, as well as a carbon and Grilamid toe producing a staggering weight of 785g per boot for size 27 (barely more than a reblochon), while maintaining excellent stiffness to give you the support you need to cross bumpy fields at full speed, without having to turn around and watch your opponents bite the dust behind you.
Lightness and support are not the only assets of this Alien 1.0, since with 75° of cuff rotation, walking will be completely natural and you will never be blocked in your movement, you will probably never reach the maximum amplitude, even in the flattest and steepest passages.
The Alien 1.0 also features a gaiter to prevent snow from entering the boot during races. Its Boa® tightening will allow a perfect and fast adjustment according to the volume of your foot. There is also a UFO Scarpa® / Vibram® sole offering phenomenal grip when you have the skis on your back. A real super-glue for the rocks, which meets the standards of the ISMF (International Ski Mountaineering Federation).
In terms of comfort, the Italian brand has thought of everything with a small pad on the calf. Made of EVA, this small and cosy cushion prevents pressure points and pain.
The Cross Fit Intuition BT liner is also impressively comfortable with 100% thermoformable high-density foams.
With these new Alien 1.0 on your feet, victory is in sight. Of course, you will also need a good cardio and strong legs, but your new mounts will let you surpass yourself and fly like E.T. on his bike. The sky is the limit...
Starting to sound mythical? Probably because it is the most successful ski mountaineering boot!
