The Helio Carbon 88 is a touring ski from Black Diamond.

Our range Helio Carbon is made up of skis designed for backcountry skiing. The skis are similar to the Helio Recon range that we already knew, but in a lighter version to be able to take on more greater elevation. This range offers a choice of widths : from 88 for race and touring enthusiasts on technical terrain to 115 for powder lovers looking for untouched lines.

The Helio Carbon 88 is the lightest ski in the range Helio Carbonwith just 1040 g for a 152 cm ski . It is designed for skiers looking for lightness to cope with long, hard runs and steep, technical descents.

This ski has a paulownia wood core reinforced with a carbon fibre structure and strategic doses of fibreglass. This structure offers a progressive flex with good torsional rigidity for such a light ski. The ski also has ABS edges down the entire length of the ski. This provides cushioning and a more incisive and easy edge hold. Finally, the front rocker ensures good lift in powder, especially when making the first trail in fresh snow.

As you can see, this is a lightweight touring ski, ideal for long, demanding runs that start early in the morning.
