Touring skis - Kids - La Machine Grom 2024 - Faction - 2023/2024

The
The Machinewhich was originally a single model, is now a complete collection, designed for touring/freetouring or even freeride. It includes 4 models ranging from 91 to 126 mm wide + a children's model. Although there is a wide range, Machine skis share a common construction, including a Paulownia core which, combined with two layers of carbon, makes them very light. The Machine range also offers deep rocker lines and a relatively soft flex. As a result, the ski has excellent manoeuvrability and flotation in soft, deep snow.
Designed to introduce your children to the world of touring and off-piste skiing, the

Turn radius / Sidecut / weight (per pair):
147 cm: 13 m / 117-88-108 mm / 2500 g
Shape:
Moderate tip and tail rocker
The term "extended rocker" refers to an inverted camber at the tip and tail which, together with the width at the waist, is the most important element for good lift in fresh snow. The extended rocker also allows the ski to pivot and turn more easily, and reduces the risk of making an edge fault.
Construction:
Lightweight paulownia core
Paulownia is a stable and lightweight wood. It is combined with softer poplar to boost flex and ski pop.
Carbon fibre across the whole surface
Between 8 and 10 carbon strips are positioned unidirectionally on either side of the core to achieve even greater stability without adding weight. Each carbon strip is woven so as to provide the greatest strength and rigidity in all directions.
Side cuts with elliptic radii
The sidecuts with elliptic radii consist of a longer radius underfoot and shorter radius on the front and rear parts of the ski. The long radius underfoot allows for faster and easier pivoting, while the shorter radii allow turns to be started more gently. These sidecuts are perfectly suited to a wide range of turn angles and sizes.
The full strength sidewall is a construction that applies layers of protective material along the edges of the sidewall, between the edge and the topsheet from above. The edges offer the best possible stability and grip when turning, while protecting the wooden core, edges and cover sheet from possible external impacts and damage.
Tip and tail cap:
For our skis with cap construction in the tip and tail, we place ultra-strong sidewalls in the centre of the ski but wrap the topsheet around the edge of the ski in the tip and tail. This protects the ski from impacts and thus improves its durability, while reducing the total weight of the ski, favouring freestyle and ski touring.
At Faction, there are three possible mounting options: Classic / Progressive (+1.5cm) / Newschool (+3cm). By default, assemblies will be carried out in accordance with the brand's recommendations, i.e. Classic on the Dancer and Agent, Progressive on the Machine and Prodigy and Newschool on the Mana.
